 MY COUNTRY

My country is Sri Lanka. It is a small island in the indian ocean. This is an agricultural country. Most of the people are farmer.

Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte is capital of sri Lanka. The population of my country about twenty million. There are several communities in Sri Lanka. They are the sinhalese, Tamils, the Muslims and the Burghers.

Piduruthalagala is highes mountain in Sri Lanka. Mahaweli is the longest river in Sri lanka. We gained independence in 1948. My country is republic today. Our national anthem is sri lanka matha. The official languages in Sri Lanka are Sinhala, Tamil and English.

There are many tourist attractions in my country. Waterfalls, sanctuaries, boternical gardens and sandy beaches are some of them. I love my country very much.
